Questions

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to give my name or contact details to see quotes?

No. The quote tool asks for your gender, date of birth, general health level, tobacco use, coverage amount and term length. Those six pieces of information are all that's needed to return quotes from carriers. Your name, address and detailed health history are collected only if you decide to apply.

Are the monthly prices shown the price I will pay?

They are rates each carrier quotes for the health class you described. The final premium is determined by the carrier after underwriting, which may confirm, improve or lower your initial classification. Nothing on this site is an offer of insurance or a guarantee of any specific price.

What happens when I click Apply?

You continue into a secure online application prefilled with your answers, run on the carriers' application platform. You can stop, save and come back later to resume. When ready, you sign electronically. Applications are handled by Susman Insurance Agency, a licensed California agency (License 0B75129).

Will I need a medical exam?

That depends on the carrier, the amount you apply for and your health answers. Many carriers now offer accelerated underwriting for eligible applicants and can issue decisions without a paramedical exam. Each quote shows whether an exam is required, possibly required or not required for that product.

Is a longer term better?

A term should cover the years when someone would be hurt financially by your death: a mortgage that still has years to run, children who are not yet independent, or a business loan your household depends on. Longer terms lock in a lower rate for more years. The quote tool lets you compare 10, 15, 20, 25 and 30 year terms side by side.

Does this site sell my information?

No. The quote tool does not ask for contact details, we do not sell or share visitor information, and our measurement is cookieless—no tracking cookies or personal identifiers are set. See our privacy page for the full list of what is and is not collected.
